
Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj was born on June 26, 1874, and breathed his last on May 6, 1922, at the age of 47 . He was a social reformer and highly influenced by Jyotiba Phule. He championed social justice, introduced reservation for backward classes, promoted free education, women’s rights, and abolition of untouchability.
